For the last 10 years or so, my New Years Eve celebrations have been amazing experiences.

Based on my goals, I've set up as many as six or more rock solid dates for the following weeks (occasionally leading to several amazing relationships over the years), made out with 20 or more hot women (that's right, in one night), or simply took an amazing women home that night with no strings attached.

I'll tell you how in a moment, but first let's take a closer look at the holiday itself....

They call it Amateur Night

...the night when there are so many parties and so many girls out living it up and ringing in the New Year.

You know, lots of women in tiny outfits searching the whole night for some guy to kiss when the ball drops?

I think we can all agree it's a pretty amazing night.

Still, if you’re like me, you may have spent your share of painful New Year’s.

It's been a while now, but I can still remember being that guy who went out, met some girls but STILL neded up empty handed at the end of the nightgoing out... and even during the countdown.

If I go back long enough, I can even remember being that guy sitting at home watching the Times Square Party on TV.

Not exactly good for your self-esteem.

But hey, you've got my New Years Guide, and you ARE going out to make the most of this years party, so let's talk about some of the other problems I've come accross that you might face on New Years.

You may have enough game to get a girl interested in you, but there still can be a lot of things that get in your the way.

Maybe her friends pulled her away... Maybe she lived a long way away and was just here for the party...

Or worse yet, maybe you just get disconnected for a bit, and the next thing you know she is occupied by some other guy.

I know from experience, it sucks to watch another guys kiss the girl you want and leave with her at the end of the night.

Sound familiar? Sound Fun?

Yeah, I didn’t think so.

I’m sure that that wasn’t the way you wanted to celebrate how the New Year was going to start.

The truth is, most everyone reading this has had some sort of experience like that... And I did too, before I figured out how women work.

Are You Ready?

Imagine yourself at an amazing party with beautiful women everywhere, and you meet ‘her’… She’s the one that you’ve been looking for. She’s Smart, Beautiful, Sexy, Fun, and (unlike so many ‘Bar Girls’) Completely Sane!

They Only Come Out at New Year’s…

You see, instead of the ‘Club-Chicks’ that you see every weekend at the local bars, New Year’s is the one night when the Amazing, Smart, and Beautiful women come out to play. It’s as if the entire World is like your personal Las Vegas, just for one night. It’ll be the perfect time to find the woman of your dreams… If you know what to do.

If You Don’t have a Plan,
You’re Going Nowhere

The biggest mistake that most beginning students make with Pickup is that they just flail around without know where they are going and how to get there.

How many times have you realized after the fact that a girl was into you, but you didn’t know what to do next? Maybe she wanted to go home with you, but the logistics got in the way?

But what are the right things to think about and make sure that you handle beforehand?

That’s a TOUGH question:

You see, I’m 37, so I’ve had 16 Years of ‘Over 21’ New Year’s Events… and in my 7 years as a Dating Coach, I’ve been able to do some of the craziest, wildest things with women that most guys could imagine.

I’ve also managed to have great ‘regular relationships’ with awesome women I met during New Years… But it wasn’t easy. I’ve had all kinds of ‘crashes & burns’ that would make you wince in agony if I told them to you. I mean, really… I’ve suffered so you don’t have to.

And I’m going to spill the beans for you. But, it’s IMPOSSSIBLE to put it all in a small letter, so I’ve put together some of my best stuff that you can use NOW:

9 Tips for New Year’s Nookie

Tip #1: Have transportation home planned

Don't underestimate the power of a designated driver and one empty seat on New Year’s Eve.

I don't know how it is in your town, but in San Francisco getting a cab on New Years from 2 to 3 a.m. is next to impossible.

Having a ride planned out gives her an easy excuse to ditch her friends and catch a ride with you!

Tip #2: Pick a large venue and stay there

It's better to go to one big party the whole night then to go to several small parties over the course of the night. As the night progresses, things tend to favor those who have been the most social all night.

Women you flirted with earlier will come back to talk to you. Even the people you haven't talked to will start to recognize you as one of the more social people in the room.

This helps tremendously, and is all lost if you jump from party to party.

Tip #3: Have a goal in mind

Are you looking to set up a bunch of dates for the New Year, to get a girlfriend, or to just have fun and hook-up for the night?

It's worth mentioning that if you don't know what you are looking for you won't know when you have found it.

Tip #4: Countdowns are for wimps!

If you have a girl attracted to you and have been talking to her a while DON'T wait till midnight to get the kiss. If she likes you then practically any line works here.

You can look at your watch and say, "Damn, it's only 10:30!".

Then pause and say, "I'm not waiting" and go in for the kiss.

You can even (*very* deliberately) set your watch forward (or backwards) to Midnight in front of her, give her an innocent "Oh I guess I'm supposed to kiss you now" look and go in for the kill. All done calmly with a smile, a sense of humor, and a "take it or leave it" attitude.

Once you've gotten to that point, keep escalating. Usually I say "Never fully make out in a bar", but tonight is different.

It's New Years Eve! Go for it!

Tip #5: Hang out with the cool kids.

No matter what your age, only go out with cool friends who will support your goals.
Remember, women *will* judge you by your friends. If there are people in your life who aren't quite up to par with you socially, this is the wrong night to spend time with them.

On the other hand, if you can go out with your best 'wingmen' definitely do it, it could very well have to do more with your success then where you go.

By the way, I'm not just talking about wingmen here. Other single girl 'friends' and couples can help you as much as (or even more then!) your male friends with game.

Tip #6: Don't overdo the banter!

I affectionately call New Years Eve amateur night.

I don't mean to disrespect anyone with that statement - I'm just trying to accurately assess what makes meeting girls on this night different. Clearly one of the biggest distinctions is that this is the one night where EVERYONE goes out.

Frankly, many of the people you'll see out drinking, dancing, and hooking up haven't been out all year.

And I not just talking about guys either.

Many of the hot women you'll meet on New Year’s hardly ever go out. This is especially true with the most successful, most in-demand women since they are often too busy working on their career and their bodies to hit the bar every weekend.

The end result is that many desirable women out on New Years are much less exposed to the attraction techniques we teach.

That means you probably need a lot *less* of your attraction techniques than normal.

Remember, once a woman likes you, you need to move into rapport, escalate things physically, or risk losing her interest.

After all, women want to hook up on New Years as much as we do, and once she likes you she's thinking "What's next?" If you answer question with more entertaining stories or harmless flirting she is likely to lose interest.

In this environment whatever skill you have will be much more effective.

Now these women aren't that easy to spot.
Unlike the guys who rarely hit the singles scene, these girls know how to dress, how to socialize, and usually even know how to dance.

So take it easy with the attraction techniques and escalate early, you won't need as much as you might think.

Tip #7: After you make out with a girl, figure out the logistics ASAP.

If you want to bring a girl home with you, you definitely don't want to wait too long to broach the subject. If you are going to meet lots of resistance, it's better to know that early on while you can still move on if you choose. If you wait till the end of the night you could miss out.

Find out who she is with, what their plans are, and what commitments she has sooner rather than later. Is she driving anyone home? Is anyone planning on giving her a ride? Is she there with protective friends or relatives that you might have to make a good impression on?

These are all questions I like to get to the bottom of right away after a little new year's kissing. No waiting required.

The after party is at your house, right?

So all you need to do is say, "Hey, we're having an after party later, did you guys all come together?" Her answer will give you an early indication of what the chances of her coming back with you are. If you do this early in the night, you are not looking for a "Yes", just a "maybe" and some more information about what the logistics are.

Tip #8: Keep an eye on your target

I'm a big fan of "takeaways" (also known as giving girls "the gift of missing you") but I am real careful using these techniques in extremely chaotic environments.

If you've found the girl you *really* want, keep an eye on her!

Leave her for a second and you may lose sight of her. Lose sight of her, and she could be lip locked with another guy by the time you find her again.

Trust me even after you've met another girl, you'll still think about the one that got away.

Tip #9: Have fun!

Don't work so hard on your game and push your goals so much that you forget to have a good time. Being the funnest guy in the room will do more for your night, and your results, than all the other tips combined.

Immediately I start with the, "hey, what's up, how do you guys all know each other?"  BAM.  Everyone's loving me, couple jokes, keep everything fun, couple quick kino hits on my target's arm after jokes, golden.  The three decide it's time to hit another bar and invite me along.  I can't because our limo is going to leave soon as well.

My target says, "hey, you're really fun, let me give you my number so that we can meet up later".  This is the first time I've ever gotten a number without asking for it.  Cool, say goodbye to the friends, lean in to kiss my target, she says she can't because "it will ruin the bet". 

Confused I ask what bet.  She looks back at me equally confused and starts telling me about how my idiot acquaintance/guy-trying-to-move-in-on-my-girl told her we had some bet (that DID NOT exist) and she didn't want to ruin it for me.  Bullshit but… everything up to that point was solid.  I called her couple days later, she remembered exactly who I was and wanted to meet up, but alas, I had to return home 12 hours and 5 states away.  Damn.

Went to next bar and was hanging out again.  Had a few drinks with some friends and on the way out, ran into one of the girls in our circle.  Said hey and asked her who she kissed at midnight?

Her: Well, no one.
Me: (all smiles)  Well, that's bullshit. Put my arm around her, lean in, and give her a quick kiss:

That was innocent enough.  She grabs me back and starts making out with me.  I didn't sleep a whole lot that night due to some extra-curriculars, but it was one hell of way to ring in the new year.

Hey Lance,

I think I'd prefer to keep my location a secret, given the personal and professional issues that could arise, but I did want to take the time to let you know how my New Year's went because I know that you like hearing about successes.  I went for, and accomplished, something that many in the community think impossible - I converted a friend into a hook-up.

It all started over 3.5 YEARS ago when she invited me over to a party her friend was having.  The signals were painfully obvious, but I couldn't man-up enough to escalate the situation.  Since then I was pretty much branded a friend, and we only see each other once every couple of months.  Now at the time that we met, I was not involved in the community, but I began learning pickup a little while afterwards (she was not the reason.  lol).

I'd moved on and dated plenty girls since, but there was always that feeling, one I'm sure you recognize, the remorse of the "one who got away."  She contacted me New Year's Eve to see what I had planned, as her friends that she was going to go out with decided to go somewhere that she didn't want to, so I invited her to come out with a couple people I was meeting.

When we got to the bar I kept things light, just a lot of banter and vibing, plus the occasional kino advance.  I also would take off from time to time and socialize with some people I knew, and then also some that I didn't.  I suppose I was doing some push/pull and building my social value through people in the bar, if you want to take the time to look back and rationalize.

I stepped outside for a minute to call one of my female friends and tell her happy new year while the girl I went with was in the bathroom.  She came outside and found me on the phone, and then after I got off the phone asked who it was, and I told her.  She gave me this look and asked, "So, is that your booty call?"  I tried to re-frame a little by calling her out on the look she was giving me, but she said that she wasn't giving me a look (as she was still giving the look.  lol) and asked again if that was my booty call.

Noticing the jealousy, I decided to do what I should've done 3.5 years ago . . . I grabbed the back of her neck and kissed her . . . and she kissed me back.

Now here's where things took an unexpected turn for the better!  I pulled away and she had this almost stunned look on her face and she said that whenever she thought of us, it reminded her of two characters on Dawson's Creek (I've never watched it, so sorry about not knowing who the characters are.  lol), and how there was an unresolved sexual tension between us.

I agreed, and then she said, "You know, we should just get it over and have sex."  I've had propositions, but this was probably the most direct.  haha.  I kept my cool and simply said, "Ok."  She asked if I was serious and I said, "Yes."  She then asked if I had a condom with me and I said I didn't, and then she suggested stopping after we left the bar to pick some up.

I think you can take it from there, but I did want to take the time to let you know how my New Year's went, and I wanted to thank you for everything that you've done, and continue to do. 

There is a way out of the friend zone!  I've been seeing a couple other girls lately, and will continue to do so, and I'm not really sure where my story with her will lead, but if nothing else, I finally made up for what my AFC self couldn't do years ago, and I owe it to men like yourself.

I've been a subscriber to your newsletter for a bit of time now, not too long, and appreciate some of the tips and pointers you've given. Some of these tips aided my New year 'celebration' I guess you could say. Here is my story:

I work in the Restaurant industry in Victoria British Columbia, and have slightly had my eye on two waitresses that seemed unattainable. I used to flirt with both of them, drop hints, but nothing ever happened.

At one point perhaps a month ago, they both told me they had boyfriends. Anyway, new years eve rolls around and as usual, I have to work. I was a little down due to the fact that I wouldn't be out partying, and I just spent a couple hundred bucks on some new clothes.

Throughout the night as these two girls would walk bye, I'd throw out the winks, give them a simple compliment, then walk away as if it were nothing. Time passed, and the whole staff of our restaurant ended up at another restaurant around 2 in the morning. After assisting one of the girls to find the washroom, the other walks up to me, compliments me on my clothes and how polite I was to help the one find the washroom, and looked into my eyes and smiled.

"You make me want to kiss you, but I'm 2 hours late I think" I said.
"Really? I was looking for you during the countdown but couldn't find you!" was her response. 
 "I know that's not true, because I you looked at me then walked away."
 "O.k, I was shy and didn't know what to do."
 "Kiss me now." I said as I moved in. "What?"

Then I just moved in for the kiss and we ended up making out in some corridor for a bit. I then pulled away calmly and told her to get the other girl from the washroom. We all waited outside the restaurant, and the girl from the washroom comes out and hugs me.

"Happy New year, sorry i didn't get a chance to see you during the countdown I wasn't at the restaurant."
"Shhh, don't worry about it, we are together now so smile" I said with my 'mr. smooth' voice as I cracked a grin.
"How are you getting home? do you have friends here?" I asked (remembering a line from your new years eve posting) "Nope, do you want to take me home? No one is at my house. You should take me home and take care of me."
"Haha, that could be a possibility, where do you live?"

She told me where she lives, and just then, something startled me from behind, "HEY! HOW ARE YOU?!" I turned around to find a girl that I hadn't seen in months. "Uhh fine I guess" This was a bad move on my part, cause the first girl was just left standing there. I realized this and turned back around to find her off leaning against a wall.

Luckily, the girl that I had already kissed then approached me.

"Hey what are your plans now? Going home?" She asked.
"I would rather spend more time with you, but if you’re tired, then I understand."
"No no, want to go back to my place and hang out? We can play super nintendo!"

After she said this, I couldn't believe it, two girls both wanting me to go to their places, no roommates were home, this could only mean one thing, the hard decision was, which one, because I KNEW that I couldn't get both.

To abruptly end the story, I guess you could say I didn't 'take care' of the one girl, but I did go to the others' and 'play super nintendo'.

“I needed the FUNDAMENTALS... I am now a changed man! Chicks love it and it works! The way these guys deliver it is completely different from what I've seen before! These guys do it in such a captivating way! I know if I master what they taught... I will be a seriously skilled pickup artist and have some money game. There are just a handful of basic concepts. however it doesn't seem most guys out there have a grasp of these key concepts. I imagine most guys out there don't know how to deliver an opener in a powerful, exciting, congruent way that really gets a woman engaged. I'd also be willing to bet that most guys don't know how to write out a story and structure it in a way that hooks the girl's attention and leads the pickup to the next level. I'd also be willing to bet that most guys aren't comfortable running basic attraction banter, or even know what it sounds like to flirt with a girl like that. So there are just a handful of concepts to work on, in my opinion... I'll admit, this sounds deceptively simple. But, if one can master these fundamental concepts, then all these other 'advanced' problems that people seem to be whining about and worrying about when they haven't even got good solid basic game will be eliminated. If you aren't capable of getting numbers that don't flake all the time or aren't getting laid regularly, PickUp 101 is definitely where you want to be.”
