From
Disc 1:
What
Society Teaches:
This is what society has spelled out for us: it’s
bad to attract women. Right, any guy who attracts women
is either some international spy or some guy who kills people,
or someone who is completely outside of the realm of who
we could actually be. You know we can’t become James
Bond. These guys are all other worldly characters. And if
there not other worldly characters, the real life characters
are these guys with terrible jobs, terrible relationships,
terrible role models. They’re bad boy’s, right?
So, any guy who’s attractive to women is either completely
mysterious or discounted as a negative factor in society.
There’s the story of women regretting being with the
bad boys and then turning to the providers. Or, this is
my favorite story, they take a bad boy and they turn him
into a provider. Hans Solo is a great example of that. He’s
a total scoundrel, and then he joined the rebellion at the
last moment and becomes a really nice guy.
So, there’s all these stories of these bad boys becoming
converted. And that by the way is the story of the romance
novel. The romance novel is a bad boy who’s completely
unattainable, who’s never been conquered by anything.
And then all of a sudden he becomes conquered by the heroine,
by the female.
And romance novels, by the way are the one guideline media
gives us for a real attraction and seduction. And by the
way, romance novels sell more than all other books combined.
So there are more people right now reading romance novels
than all other types of books combined. Amazing.
That’s the story, the romance novel. The story of
a bad boy turning into a provider. That is the real female
fantasy. We’ll talk about how to use that knowledge…
